Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He held the title for 11 years. In his career he defeated Max Schmeling, Jack Sharkey, Max Baer, Primo Carnera, Billy Conn and Jersey Joe Walcott. His final record was 63-3. Offered here is an original promotional program of Joe Louis published in 1946 and covering his career up to that point.
