Regular price $350.00

On October 5, 1936 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweights Jimmy McLarnin and Tony Canzoneri battled in the main event. Canzoneri had defeated McLarnin 5 months earlier, but McLarnin gained his revenge winning a unanimous ten round decision. By the last round Canzoneri's eyes were bloody and his nose was cut. The split lip he earlier sustained while training and sparring--resulting in postponing this bout--was "pulled and crimson." The crowd of 11,423 was so sickened by the sight that they yelled for the referee stop it. But, as Canzoneri had never been knocked out in his career, Cavanaugh allowed him to go the distance.
