Carlos Monzon was born on August 7, 1942 in Santa Fe, Argentina. He won the Argentine Middleweight Title from Jorge Fernandez on September 3, 1966. On June 10, 1967 he won the South American Middleweight Title also from Jorge Fernandez. He won the World Middleweight Title from Nino Benvenuti on November 7, 1970 and retired as champion on August 29, 1977. His final record was 89-3-8 with 61 KO's and 1 no contest. He died in 1995 after his car went out of control and landed in a ditch. Presented here is a signed Boxing Writer's Program from the 48th Annual Boxing Writer's Dinner. Monzon was honored as the Fighter of the Year.
