Archie Moore was born on December 13, 1913 in Benoit, Mississippi. He won the World Light Heavyweight Title from Joey Maxim on December 17, 1952. He retired after an exhibition match with Nap Mitchell on August 27, 1965 with a final record of 183-22-9 with 1 no contest and 129 KO's. Presented here is an amateur program from the 1936 Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions. He defeated Ray Halford and then lost to Cortland Schultz.
This official program is 8 1/2" x 11" and is 20 pages in length. The front and back cover have been separated from the binding below the lower staple. There is some light soiling inside the program but it has not been scored. There is a small rip in the upper left corner of the front cover. There are several small creases on the cover and through the program.
