On March 31, 1969 at the Sports Arena in San Diego heavyweights Ken Norton and Pedro Sanchez fought in a supporting fight on the show. Norton, in only his 9th professional fight, stopped Sanchez in the 2nd round. In the main event former welterweight champion Luis Rodriguez, fighting as a middleweight, stopped Rafael Gutierrez in the 6th round.
