On August 16, 1960 at Madison Square Garden in New York welterweight star Benny "Kid" Paret fought Denny Moyer in the main event. Moyer prevailed winning a close 10 round split decision. "Moyer was too cautious and defensive in the early rounds and aggressive Paret had things pretty much his own way. In the fifth Denny began to display some initiative and discovered he could hit the Cuban with left jabs and straight rights. From then on the Oregon youngster made things decidedly unpleasant for (Paret)." (The Ring, November 1960, page 57). Offered here is an original, official program for the evnt.
