ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY-JOE CURCIO OFFICIAL PROGRAM (1946)

On July 12, 1946 at Madison Square Garden in New York future world champion Sugar Ray Robinson, fighting as a welterweight, took on Joe Curcio in the main event. Robinson knocked Curcio out in the 2nd round. Robinson knocked out Curcio at the end of the first round. Joe could not recover and was counted out in his corner at the start of the second round. Curcio supporters were angered by this and stormed the ring. Offered here is a scarce, original, official program for this event.
This is an original, official program which consists of 48 pages complete with 4 page insert. Not scored. Tight binding. Program is not creased. Back cover has two gouges. Insert has edge wear around the perimeter. 8 1/2" x 11."
