HISTORY: On December 12, 1950 at Harringay Arena in Harringay, London, United Kingdom future world middleweight champion Randy Turpin fought Tommy Yarosz in the featured match. Turpin won by disqualification in the 8th round. Yarosz was floored in the first round and the bell interrupted the count at five. "After that Yarosz made it his business to get to close-quarters and trap one of Turpin's arms or both it he could." Despite receiving more punishment in the second round, Tommy made it through to the end. The third was even and Yarosz won the fourth "and it looked as if the tide had turned with a vengeance." Turpin took charge again in the fifth and kept on top until the end. "The referee disqualified the American for persistent holding midway through the eighth round."
