HISTORY: On August 9, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York middleweights Rodrigo Valdez and Bobby Cassidy squared off in an important division matchup. Valdez continued his knockout string stopping Cassidy in the 7th round when Cassidy could not continue because of a severe cut over his right eye.
