Max Baer was born on February 11, 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his professional boxing career on May 16, 1929. He stopped Primo Carnera in 11 rounds on June 14, 1934 in Long Island City to win the Heavyweight Title. He lost it to James J. Braddock on June 13, 1935. He posted a career record of 70-13. In addition to Carnera he had victories over Max Schmeling, Tommy Farr, Tom Heeney and King Levinsky. Presented here is original sheet music for WHO SAID DREAMS DON'T COME TRUE? which pictures Max Baer on the cover. Copyrighted in 1934 when Baer was heavyweight champion. Lyrics by Dorothy Fields and melody by Jimmy McHugh.
