HISTORY: On October 26, 1951 (rescheduled from October 11, 1951) at Madison Square Garden in New York rising heavyweight star and future champion Rocky Marciano fought aging former champion Joe Louis. Marciano dominated and stopped Louis in the 8th round. Louis was knocked down twice in the 8th. Marciano dropped Louis for an 8-count with a left hook, and then sent him through the ropes for the knockout. Referee Rudy Goldstein calls a halt without a count. Offered here is a very rare, original, ticket stub for the scheduled date for this fight.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, on site, ticket stub which names the fighters and includes a section, row and seat number. Bold color and print. Clean front and back. Not torn. Creased. Corners have wear. 2" x 2 1/4."
Extremely rare ticket stub from the actual venue that hosted this fight. We have never seen a full ticket from this venue and this is only the second ticket stub we have seen.
