Jack Dempsey fought Gene Tunney for the second time on September 22, 1927 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Tunney won by decision after 10 rounds. The fight is remembered as the famous "Long Count" fight which resulted when Dempsey knocked Tunney down, but failed to get to a neutral corner allowing Tunney extra time to recover. Offered here is an original mutascope sign which was used to advertise the showing of the fight on a mutascope reel.
This is na original, cardboard, advertising, mutascope sign which pictures Tunney down at the time of the long count. Image is bold and claer. Color for advertisement has faded slightly. Not creased. Some soiling. Edge wear with some pieces out on perimeter. 10 1/2" x 19 3/4."
