2005 BOXING WRITERS ASSOCIATION AWARDS PROGRAM (BARRERA-MORALES FIGHT)

HISTORY: On November 27, 2004 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Erik Morales defended his WBC Super Featherweight Title against Marco Antonio Barrera. Barrera prevailed in an exciting fight and won a unanimous 12 round decision and the title. Barrera possibly broke Morales' nose in the second round. Round 11 is named Ring Magazine Round of the Year, with both fighters landing plenty of leather. The Boxing Writers Association named the fight the Fight of the Year at their awards dinner on May 6, 2005. Offered here is an original program from that dinner which honored this fight.
