Lou Ambers was born on November 8, 1913 in Herkimer, New York. He won the World Lightweight Title from Tony Canzoneri on September 3, 1936. In his career he fought many important fighters of the day including: Honey Mellody, Johnny Jadick, Fritzie Zivic, Henry Armstrong, Jimmy McLarnin and Pedro Montanez. He retired after losing to Lew Jenkins on February 28, 1941 with a final record of 86-8-6 with 27 KO's. Offered here is a glove signed by Lou Ambers on which he has included his professional record, nickname, real name and years as champion.
This is a regulation size, left handed, red leather boxing glove with a gold Everlast label at the wrist. Signed boldly in black sharpie. The glove is clean with no flaws. 14 inches long
