HISTORY: James J. Braddock, The Cinderella Man, was born on February 11, 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. He defeated Max Baer at Long Island City, NY on June 13, 1935 to win the World Heavyweight Title. He was an extreme underdog and earned his nickname with the win. He lost the title to Joe Louis in 1937. His last fight was on January 21, 1938, a win over Tommy Farr. His final record was 46-24-4 and included fights with Art Lasky, John Henry Lewis, Maxie Rosenbloom, Pet Latzo and Tommy Loughran. Offered here is a beautiful signed photograph of Jimmy Braddock, signed as heavyweight champion, 13 days before his fight with Joe Louis. Authenticated by PSA/DNA.

Signed in ink in upper left corner, "To Dick Melvin Best Wishes Jimmy Braddock 6/9/37." Signed only 13 days before losing his title to Joe Louis. 7" x 9 1/2."
