CARTER, JIMMY-GEORGE ARAUJO ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1953)

On June 12, 1953 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweight champion Jimmy Carter defended his title against tough George Araujo. Araujo entered the bout an 8-to-5 favorite, but Carter stopped him in the 13th round indefense of his title. Offered here is an original wire photo showing Carter standing over the fallen Araujo at the end of the fight.
