CORBETT, JAMES J.-ROBERT FITZSIMMONS ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PHOTO (1897)

Jim Corbett fought Bob Fitzsimmons on March 17, 1897 in Carson City, Nevada. Fitzsimmons knocked Corbett out in the 14th round to win the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Presented here is an original antique photo from this bout showing Corbett standing over the fallen Fitzsimmons.
This mounted photo measures 6 inches by 8 1/4 inches. It is mounted on cardboard stock. The photo has a large tear across the middle right side and has been repaired on the back with tape. The bottom edge has glue residue, the corners show ware in the upper left and bottom right. The back has writing in pencel, the image is vivid.
