Jack Dempsey fought Gene Tunney for the second time on September 22, 1927 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Tunney won by decision after 10 rounds. The fight is remembered as the famous "Long Count" fight which resulted when Dempsey knocked Tunney down, but failed to get to a neutral corner allowing Tunney extra time to recover. Offered here is an original moving pictures flip book which depicts images throughout the fight.
This is an original, 1927, IDEAL Moving Pictures flip book which pictures both Tunney and Dempsey on the cover and throughout the book in action during the fight. Some rust at staple which is still intact. Tight binding. Clean inside and out. Edge, corner and surface wear to covers. 1 5/8" x 1 7/8." Rare, the first we have offered.
