HISTORY: Georges Carpentier fought Jack Dempsey for the Heavyweight Title on July 2,1921 in front of over 80,000 people at Boyle's Thirty Acres in Jersey City, New Jersey. Dempsey won the fight by stopping the smaller Carpentier in the 4th round. This was the first million dollar gate in boxing history.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, Press Credential issued by the Commissioner of Public Safety for Jersey City, New Jersey. Includes the date, name of commissioner, name of bearer, notation as PRESS GOOD FOR THIS DAY ONLY. Has three pin holes at top. Paper residue on back from being mounted. Bold color and print. Not creased or torn, but has a compression on right side. 2 1/4" x 4."

Rare Press Credential for the first million dollar gate. The only we have seen.
