HISTORY: Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Presented here is a fantastic hand written letter from Dempsey describing his bout with Jess Willard.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch one page letter hand written by Jack Dempsey describing his bout with Jess Willard. Dempsey denies using brass knuckles. Great content and the letter has bold writing. There are folds in the paper from being put into an envelope. The letter is dated April 29,1969 and signed by Dempsey at the bottom.The whole letter is in Dempsey's hand, written in ink.
