DEMPSEY, JACK & JOHNNY KILBANE ANTIQUE PHOTO (SPARRING-1921)

Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Johnny Kilbane was born on April 18,1889 in Cleveland, Ohio. He defeated Abe Attell on February 12, 1912 to win the Featherweight Championship of the World and he held the title for 11 years. Presented here is an original antique photograph of Jack Dempsey and Johnny Kilbane sparring with each other in 1921.
This original antique photo pictures both fighters sparring with each other. It is stamped on the reverse with the date 1921. One small chip out of the lower right corner which barely affects the image. Good, clear image of both. 4 3/4 x 6 3/4. Sepia tone.
