HISTORY: : Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's.Presented here is a Western Union letter from Dempsey to Max Schmeling's manager Joe Jacobs. Great content by Dempsey on coaxing Baer to fight Schmeling.Dated 1933.

FULL DESCRIPTION: This Western Union letter measures 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches.The letter has the usual folds and shows age/The edges and corners show minor wear.There are two small holes in the paper near the folds.The back has some tape repairs.There is some foxing.Great content,dated 1933.
