Jack Everhardt was born in 1872 in New Orleans. He fought for the most part during the 1890's, beginning in 1891 and ended his career in 1908. Everhardt was never much bigger than a lightweight but fought and hit like a man much larger; He was quick and scrappy, tough and durable - and a stiff puncher; Jack was Middleweight Champion, Welterweight Champion and Lightweight Champion of South Africa during his career Everhardt defeated such men as George Pierce, "Texas" Jack Burke, Stanton Abbott, Horace Leeds, Billy Ernst, Joe "Stiff" Dunfee, Jack Lalor, James Walker and Tom Dingey and also during his career fought Kid Lavigne, Jack Daly, Owen Ziegler, Kid McPartland, Matty Matthews and Young Griffo. Presented here is an extremely rare, original panel card, first generation photograph of Jack Everhardt as he looked at the height of his career.
This is an original, first generation, panel card photograph by Church of Dallas, Texas picturing Everhardt in full fight pose. Bold, clear image. One small stain on lower right border and on mount, not affecting the image, otherwise clean with no staining. Name written in pencil on lower mount and stamped on reverse. Clipped lower left corner. Not creased. 7 1/2" x 13." Exceptionally rare.
