JO Sports Inc.

HISTORY: On February 5, 1943 at Madison Square Garden in New York world lightweight champion Beau Jack took on Fritzie Zivic in a non title affair. Jack won a unanimous ten round decision. As for that "low" blow, when Otto called it and took that eighth round away from Fritzie, it set off some extra fancy fireworks. The boos came down off the Garden's second "shelf" for more than five minutes (Reno Gazette).

Offered here is an original, type 1 wire photo depicting action in this bout which has been signed by both Beau Jack and Fritzie Zivic. From the collection of former boxer Vince Handley. Authenticated by JSA.
