HISTORY: Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. Offered here is an original, ring art toy of Joe Louis produced in the 1930's and entitled "THE BROWN BOMBER."

FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original ring art toy entitled, "JOE LOUIS THE BROWN BOMBER." Consists of two dark skin fighters with a referee and two stools. Constructed of wood and hand painted. One fighter has a piece broken off of the right foot, otherwise all are intact. Minor paint chipping. Has a ring with turnbuckles and ring ropes. The figures are approximately 7" high. Ring is approximately 11" x 11." Incredibly rare, the only example we have seen or offered for sale. Circa 1930's.
