HISTORY: On November 2, 1984 at the Felt Forum in New York IBF Super Welterweight champion Mark Medal made his first title defense against Carlos Santos. Santos won a unanimous 15 round decision and the title. Mark Medal defended his IBF world Junior Middleweight title against Carlos Santos. It was the fourth time in history that two Puerto Ricans faced each other for a world title (Santos also fought the first time that happened, losing to Wilfred Benitez). Medal was down in round one, and Santos was down in round 14, Santos winning the fight by decision in fifteen. It was Medal's first defense of his title.
