ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY-MAXIE SHAPIRO OFFICIAL PROGRAM (1941)

On September 19, 1941 at Madison Square Garden in New York lightweights Sugar Ray Robinson and Maxie Shapiro fought in an important divisional bout. Robinson stopped Shapiro in the third round. Shapiro was down twice in the 2nd and twice in the 3rd round before the referee, Arthur Donovan, stopped it. Offered here is a scarce original, official program for this event.
This is an original, official program which consists of 48 pages complete plus 4 page insert. Tight binding with exception of one loose page. Not scored, but winners noted in pencil. Small writing on cover otherwise clean inside and out. Edge and corner wear. 8 1/2" x 11."
