On March 3, 2000 at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora defended his title against Victoriano Sosa. Spadafora was knocked down twice in the 3rd round, but arose to win a unanimous, but close 12 round decision. Roberto Duran made a special guest appearance at the show.
