On June 5, 1957 at the Auditorium in Miami Beach, Florida welterweights Gil Turner and Yama Bahama battled in the main feature. Turner prevailed in a tough fight winning a ten round split decision. Turner was hospitalized following the bout for what the ring declared was a "blood swelling" on the forehead. Turner's manager George Katz alleged that the swelling came from a headbutt. Offered here is an original wire photo from this fight depicting 6th round action.
